Weekly Writing Contest !

On Thursday a topic will be chosen and posted by the previous weeks winner (That's me! Yayz!). Then everyone who wants to enter will post their piece in the thread before 12:00 PM (-8:00 GMT) Thursday. So that is Wednesday night/early Thursday Morning. Then the previous winner will judge all the pieces and pick the new winner and post it in the entry thread sometime on Thursday (try and do it as early as you can). The weeks winner will then pick the topic and make a new thread and it starts all over again.

Rules

1. All forms of writing are welcome, whether it be poetry, short stories, essays, fan fiction, or whatever.
2. All entries must be under 500 words
3. All entries will be rated no higher than R this will be at the mods discretion. All entries rated over PG-13 must be under spoiler tags with a warning!
4. The week's judge's decision is final and absolute. There no whining or complaining about another piece being better or the judge not being able to judge. On a flip note lets try and keep it as fair and impartial as possible.
5. Critique will be allowed in another thread, but must remain constructive. Just saying 'your piece sucks' is not allowed and will be dealt with accordingly. Everyone will be trying their best so lets not try to hurt feelings. On the flip side learn to take criticism it will help you become a better writer.
6. Let's have fun with it. This will give you a chance to read others people's writing and let others read yours.
7. A default judge will be pick a new winner and topic if the week judge goes MIA.
8. If for some reason you can't fulfill your duties. Please PM Sarah so that she will be able to take appropriate action so the contest doesn't suffer delays.

Topic: Light

i guess ill start this off then...just for fun


light of life and light of death mixed between.

we see the come and we see the go and fight.

never i wait for i may go to see some comings and goings.

wait and see for he will bring the light of life and death to thee...

Turmoil may haunt your every dream
But lay within you find the unseen
In the unseen holds such a warmth
The warmth can make you smile and laugh
But if not careful you will lose it again
Only try to stay on the bright side
There you will find the light.

The light will hold the hopes and dreams
It'll hold such sweet memories
It carries what you hold so dear
That is why it lights the heart so clear
To fill the body and soul
To give hope within the minds of the untold
It allows you comfort of past and future

Without that light it'll all be sad memories
Without that light there will be shadows
Without that light there will be despair
Without that light there will be chaos
Without that light there is no soul
Without the light there is no hopes
Without it...there are no dreams

Keep your light shining
Never look to despair
For the despair will keep you there
The light gives comfort for the rainy days
Leave despair and hold close your memories
The memories are your source of light
They will guide you through the future.

LIGHT

I gazed into the light to see
How to find my destiny,
Who wrote,Who made,Who used,
This destiny, this is what makes confused.

For I this day i find and see.
People scravaging for a destiny,
Christians,Catholics,Muslums,Men,
Women,Children, and Find none then.

But Look to the light and you will see,
Youre reflection, as clear as can be.
For it is you who finds the light inside
For behind the darkness it abides.




This i agree sucks but i wrote it as soo as i saw this thing says TOPIC: Light im like crap my poem wont work. LOL but yeah its more about destiny than light. lol
